yeah, i've had a couple of problems with AC components too.
crank broke after 15,000 miles (i had had no wrecks) and seat post clamp bent making it unusable...
they are pushing the envelope as far a weight goes, it think.
so your question is... do you roll the dice with another AC hub, or cave and buy something more robust?
BTW, i never bought another AC crank, but i did buy another AC seatpost, but i think it has more robust seat clamp hardware on it.
my AC hubs are (ca 1995) still going strong as is my AC "TriLock" headset. so it's not all bad.
it's not the end of the world even if you buy another hub and it fails. i "get" light wheels.
