I wish I had more space!
I live in a very big home for where it is located. We have a 3 bedroom 2000 sq ft house in Cambridge. We have a driveway ie 'off street parking' which is a huge plus for our area. But with 2 kids there is no space for any hobbies. Especially to store something as big as bicycles.
Currently, we have 6 bikes in our house.
I have my modern road bike (Pinarello FP3) which I ride for fun and exercise, occasional charity rides etc. There is my street rig (Slim Chance fixed gear from my messenger days), which I use to get around town solo. My mountain bike (mid 90s Yeti) has been re-purposed as a tow vehicle to ferry the kids around town. My wife rides a 1990 Bridgestone RB-1 that I stripped down and restored/rebuilt with moderni-ish parts. We have 2 kids bikes: a 12" Go Diego Go bike, and a 20" Gary Fisher. We also have a trailer and a trail-a-bike.
I wish I had more space, a garage, bigger cellar etc to house more C&V bikes. I have no space for N+1. We don't really even have space for N.
Here is something I have noticed recently. I have been riding my wife's bike with my toddler in tow for training rides and I get nothing but smiles, thumbs up, and compliments from other riders, drivers, pedestrians. When I ride the 'plastic fantastic' Pinarello by myself, I either get ignored (fine by me) or I get attitude -sometimes even open hostility!
I guess I don't really have a point beyond that I wish I had storage space for more bikes and C&V bikes make people happier than modern bikes.
