Nothing about headsets require LBS installation, it's harder (imo) to get the cup off. Just buy a lot of spacers to go with it so you can get a feel for where you want to chop the new fork, and don't mess up the star nut insertion. It is really easy to do, there's plenty of info out there.

Oh BTW you can use the cup from the threaded headset so you might not have to remove it at all if you don't care if they match.
