If you're not used to the bike, it may actually end up being a really bad idea.
That amount of mileage should only be done on a bike that fits properly. Most rental shops don't spend much time fitting. They get your cc and send you on your way.
Additionally, if you do that, make sure you see about getting a reservation as I'm sure other people have the same idea.

First off, congratulations on supporting your sister.
iqbal makes perfect sense - renting is probably a bad idea. I'd get either of the first 2 BD bikes. I love the last one but it has downtube shifters which you may not like for such a long ride.
