I am working on getting a small folding bike that will be able to travel as luggage, so the potential for riding to the airport greatly increases. However I usually stay at hotels that have van service so I have that angle covered as long as I fly out of my local airport.

When flying with my folding bike I've sometimes made use of the hotel bus option even when not staying at the hotel. At airports without clear exit routes for cyclists I just leave the bike packed and hop on the first hotel bus that comes by. Then I unpack the bike there and start my ride to wherever I'm headed. I wouldn't do this if the bus were full and I might be displacing an actual hotel guest, but usually they're running pretty empty.
