Messengering

SO I started working at the messenger company (the only one in hawaii) last week. Of course this is in addition to working a minimum of an 8 hour military day at night. Its been amazing, frustrating, fun, and exhausting more than I could have even imagined.
The business district of honolulu is only a 10 block by 3 block area so that means alot of incredibly short runs for the most part. Then there is the fact that the rest of organized hawaii is about 10 miles apread alot. Everyone once in a while you get some serious distance runs and those break up the inncer city monopoly. Hawaii drivers are bad, but the cops are pretty decent and let us have pretty much our run of the streets. Being in the military isn't much help and is constantly changing my schedule or adding more things to do each day. Its worth it though. Up at 6, home from messing around 2, out the door by 3, back home by one. At least I get to nap on the bus crossing the island. I'm also the only one on a fixie, besides the boss, which makes trackstanding that much cooler out here.
I don't know why I typed this, figured maybe somebody would care, but I doubt it. I have learned the very valuable trick of hitting up the bar between runs though. Nothing like riding and drinking and showing up less than sober on the military base.
