I'll try to talk you up to a Fx7.3. I have a 7300 and would prefer the Fx. Why? The front suspension is a waste of money for what I use the bike. I have a Cheap Giant Sedona with an even cheaper front suspension and it works well. It's a 26" bike though. A 26" wheel built with the same level of quality will be stronger. It's just the Physics.

If you're riding on pavement which I suggest. The Fx7.3 wil be a bike that will always be useful. 8 speed cassettes are tough. As far as 36 versus 32 if you can get the LBS to upgrade you great if not ride the 32's until (if) you have problems Then upgrade.
