I'll pray for your, and all of our continued safety. Thanks for the offer about the rigid fork, but I'm gonna have to decline. With wrist injuries, and weight issues, I NEED a front shock, also, as the bike (presuming it's salvageable) uses 700/35C wheels and disk brakes, finding a fork has been a bit of a B!+CH.
