A bruise on my thigh but that was it, and it did come unclipped when I hit the ground.

I like my solution - have it both ways. I have Shimanos that are a platform on one side and the clipless on the other. I'll stay on the platforms when I'm somewhere with a lot of driveways or pedestrians (like on a beach bike path) or other bikes that I'm afraid are going to crash into me.

I've done less than 100 miles with them, but I am already finding that they are easier for me to get in and out of now and I do it automatically. When I'm coming to a stop I still think downshift....unclip....but I'm not needing to think it as loudly anymore and it is getting easier.

Good luck! My brain knows that clipless is good, but my gut keeps telling me I am going to die. Have to retrain the gut!
