2 distinct different geometries, and I'm not talkin just about headtube length...
would be surprised if you don;t find one more suitable than the other for road, varied terrain, not race discipline specific?
I'd be checkin it out - head and ST angles, TT length, BB drop - all very different, and no indication of 'front-center'...
not considering your body DIMS (which are very important), CR1 seems more like 'crit' biased Dims, Synapse seems more general road
check em out...
as for parts - wheels and such can be easily sold and replaced with preferred equip.
