In the late 80s, I would buy bikes (mostly English 3-speeds) at a couple of different local flea markets, rehab them, and then offer them for sale by locking them to the fence in front of my house with a sign and price tag. Never had an issue or any that didn't sell. Of course, that was mostly because I never asked more than $50-60 per bike.
