I did this exact same thing when I was getting into cycling 15 years ago. Lucky nothing was seriously injured besides pride.
For me, I drove my car today, and when I got home I found that the ignition lock on my car broke again... which means the key won't turn off, and I can't remove it either. I had to stall it and unhook the battery. It also means I can't use the car for any shopping trips till I get it fixed... and I just filled it up, too. 93 octane is $4.15 a gallon here, cost me $47!! Sheesh. That's what I get for owning a boosted sports car.
I'll be riding the rest of the week.
