I've been at this not quite 2 months now. I'm riding 10 miles a day, 6 days a week. I've only lost about 4 lbs in the 7 weeks, but I'm confident it will start to drop soon. It can't drop fast enough for me. Hauling my lard ass up these hills in the Texas Hill Country is no fun. Luckily, my legs are getting stronger. But I'm more than twice your age.

Sounds like a great bike, you'll enjoy the heck out of it. My 2005 Trek 2100 is pretty similar with aluminum frame and carbon seat stays and fork and 105 group. So, I know you're going to love it.

One thing though, I'm 6' 1" (230 lbs) with a 32" inseam and I wouldn't fit on a 56 cm frame. I'm on a 58 cm frame. I know we're all different and all, but I'm only an inch taller than you and your legs are longer. Are you sure you got a proper fit? That's a pretty important 2 cm difference in frame sizing.
