I dropped one of my laptops, and have spent hours getting it to work again. Had to reinstall windows with a complete new disc format, and now have to find and install all the drivers. Dell does not make it easy to do that. One driver at a time (there are 76 possibilities). . You would think they would have software that would inspect your computer and download automatically just what you need.

I could not get it onto the internet, until I finally installed an old USB internet device. Also have to go through a complete windows update.
Keep working that elbow, gentle, but work it. This is big time conincidence here. I got one laptop that is about 2 or more years old. It is on it last leg, but I like using it. Finally it went out, just like your.. In my work, we use images to put computers back to where they were.. Anyway, none of the images worked. So, just like you, had to install windows from scratch, then get the drivers..Finally, I get all the drivers and it is working nicely. Then all of a sudden the wireless connect goes away. I check everything, no workee. I got another notebook that is working but keeps rebooting.. They both gateways, going to snatch the hard drive out of the one that lost the wireless, stick it( if it fits)in the one that keeps rebooting, install windows, and hope that I will come out with one that works..

On your Dell, if you put in the service code, I think it will tell you the ones you need.

Anyway, luck to both of us on this, and hope it gets better for your wife..
