17.3 miles by road or 17.7 if I opt for a portion of the Capitol City Trail...In the am, most days I don't have to put my foot down and I can usually count the cars passing me on both hands and a foot. After work there is more traffic but I still have long stretches of no vehicles. Drivers around here are pretty decent although I get the occasional JA that needs to let me know I don't belong. It takes me around an hour each way depending on wind...I have a very understanding wife who handles things on the home front and a couple of coworkers that live close enough to give me a ride if the weather turns nasty. By nasty, I mean lightning, hail, snow, and ice. Rain does not deter me as I am mostly waterproof and clothes can be dried. We have showers and lockers at work and inside bike storage...work has a good bike commuting atmosphere so 10/84 coworkers also bike commute.
