Buy a two thousand dollar bike if you want, but if you do, you must ride with the A group of your local cycling club every Sunday, ride at least a half dozen centuries each year and do some longer rides. Like any sport, theres rules. If you have a bike that cost several thousand dollars you must ride it so hard you turn yourself inside out with pain. Otherwise, you're not getting your money's worth.
