Turns out the triple V1 BB is wider on both sides and the stub shaft difference is about 4mm on the drive side. I'm going to slide one in there and see if it resolves the inside ring problem (it should) without causing chainline problems with the big ring (it might, but I also have a braze on triple Integra FD that probably has more outboard swing).
If that doesn't work, two things will happen:
1) I'll put a 115mm square taper BB in there with a compact 9 speed crank from Truvativ or FSA
2) I'll be selling a hella bunch of V1 octalink BB's (double english, double italian and triple italian) and a very nice Ultegra crankset.
re: the Kalloy seatpost. Yes, they are marginally heavier than a 'big name' post, but they are also something like 350mm long. So I cut off 3-4 inches on the bottom, still have plenty in the seat tube, and they are lighter than out of the box. If I weighed less than 195 or so, component weight would be more of an issue for me. As it is...
