Setting and reaching goals!
When I bought an $88 Wally mountain bike last May, 27th if it matters.
I was 64 years old, 290lbs, and unable to mow my yard. It took three
days, mow rest, mow rest. Wore out the starter rope on the mower.
The yard is 90'X180' BTW.
I had some goals in mind.
1: loose some weight.
2: mow the yard in a day.
3: feel better.
4: be able to ride 10 miles without stopping.
5: ride a couple thousand miles in a year.
6: Not have to pay the extra for large size clothes.
Today:
I weight just under 220lbs.
I can mow, trim, rake the yard in under three hours.
I feel like a million dollars.
I have ridden over fifteen miles non stop and over 100
miles in a day several time.
I am just short of 12,000 miles in the past year.
Yesterday I went to Wally Wally and got three pairs
of Wangler shorts and six FOL pocket T's and didn't
have to get the "XX" sizes, saved over ten dollars.
A few more lbs, I want to get below 200 by the end
of summer.
Reach for the stars.
