That's an interesting idea, but to be honest, I haven't done any self-supported camping since I was a Boy Scout. I'm not sure how I would take to it again after all these years. When I was in my 20s I used to do the Bloomington (IL) newspaper's annual 3-day tour around central Illinois every Labor Day weekend, but they hauled all the gear and arranged for the breakfasts and dinners. I still have my tent and sleeping bag from those misadventures, though if I had to haul them myself at this point, I'd probably need some more packing equipment.
