I'm involved

I'm involved with both the Tour de Nash and the Harpeth River Ride. I'm going out to paint arrows tonight.

TdN is put on by Walk/Bike Nashville, the ONLY 501c3 group dedicated to bike/ped advocacy in Middle Tennessee. This is the signature annual event, and is an important fund raiser to keep their programs and campaigns running. Yes, last year was flooded out and losing deposits was a serious financial hit on the organization. This is a resurrection year. That should be a good enough reason to go ride it. But, it's also a great ride, well supported and does demonstrate to riders ways to get around town by bike.

HRR is put on by Harpeth Bike Club. Yes, it's a rural ride, and yes, Nissan is the signature sponsor. Many of the funds go to support advocacy groups like Walk/Bike Nashville, Bike Walk Tennessee. Plus HBC is a big supporter of TNABA - blind athletes. Blind (on tandems) and handicapped athletes will lead the ride out same as last year. It's a great ride.

Enough for now. I'm off to paint arrows.
