Hey everyone, this is my first post but I've lurked around here for a little bit.

I'm planning on building my own bike and have most of the components I want figured out, but the headset and fork are giving me some confusion.

The frame I ordered lists 1-1/8" as the headset size it accepts.

So that answers what size headset I need, but what size steerer tube do I need?
Am I supposed to get 1" so it fits in the 1-1/8" headset? or do I get the same size (so a 1-1/8" steerer tube).

It seems like such a basic question, but I dont see it documented anywhere and I am a complete newbie when it comes to bike mechanics.
