hmmm. Antifreeze as a cleaner... I've never thought about that! Using a crock pot is another great idea too.

The vinegar solution works very fast at boiling temps. I've got a chain sitting in mineral spirits ready to go into the vinegar boil but maybe I'll give the glycol idea a chance as this intrigues me! I'll have to give it a try someday! I don't have a junk crockpot at the moment and I think using the good one will annoy the wife a bit.
