Last year I was in Seattle on BTWD, and it poured as I was riding back from the Ballard BTWD fair to Capitol Hill. I had to duck under at PCC in Fremont and wait it out for almost an hour and it never fully stopped. I was there on vacation with my bike by myself and having a great time. This year, I'm home in NYC and I decide I have to ride in from Brooklyn to 42nd St for BTWD. All week long the forecast was for rain, but Friday was turning better. It poured, but at least it waited until I got to work. I stayed at work until it stopped. I took it very easy on the way home as I never ride in the wet in NYC. Funny thing is it only took about 5 minutes more than usual, proving my point that it doesn't matter how fast you go in Manhattan traffic.
