This is BS, unless you have a cheap/broken leaky gauge.

There's something called an effusion rate for the air in your tire to escape, and it's not that fast.

When you think about it, the gauge just has to have a chamber inside that equalizes the pressure inside the tire, and in the air chamber inside of the gauge. The valve is only open for a split second to read the pressure.

The point is, I would have to measure the pressure with the gauge many times before it would even make a significant difference in psi.
