Obviously there are some drivers who want you out of the way regardless. Then there are some who are good hearted but just so distracted and ignorant they end up on the evening news for running into the back of a parked police cruiser with full lights and sirens blaring.
As I recall, you ride a walmart mtb in the city or a folder right? On my specialized mtb with slicks or my commuter roadie, in traffic, 99% of the time, you can almost coast at 15 mph (which is just about how fast traffic averages around here, haha).
