selling 'brake' cables for BMX in several translucent colors. about $1.20 by the foot, just like I bought at my local bike shop (the late great and weird Lee Peters' Bicycle Circus in Ludington, Michigan) had back in '83! (the current bmx place also sell in sets). That should work fine for friction shifting as well as brakes. They seem to have clear, trans. red, trans. yellow, trans. blue. Sadly, no trans. green to match another bike I have...

I remember the cool translucent housing I could buy by the foot back in the early 80s... Since I'm getting a nice gray 83 univega soon in almost new shape, I might try'n go with the 'clear' color that shows the metal coil underneath. I also have a lot of sets of the old suntour bare metal wound ones for the barcons, but they're all in storage far away from me at the moment...

Those VO ones above look too pimpy and loud for me - would probably appear to a 'carbon' frame-type person though.
Got the ones being sold by "Pork Chop BMX". It's exactly the same as what I have on my Peugoet, and their price is pretty good, considering you cannot find these 80's C&V era clear cable style housing that easy.......Order away before they run out!
