I started receiving similar e-mail responses only when I listed items that were in excess of $150, so that was my first clue. Another clue was the convoluted story and poor grammar. A glaring clue was the offer to buy at my price, sight unseen, and have an agent pick up the bike. Now, who on earth does THAT? Nobody legit, that's who. My ads state explicitly to contact me via phone, so the e-mails are suspicious; but I received a text message requesting me to use IM on the computer, and I refused to do that, too.
I admit that I am tempted to try to reel in these creeps so I can see them face-to-face, but, as stated above, it's a much better idea to ignore them completely.
