7075 aluminum is good , Stronglight and TA make top notch spare chainrings.
so you will be reducing the wrap capacity required of your Rear derailleur

Cyclocrossers often switch to a smaller big ring, on their cranksets.
the Paris Roubaix racers swap in a bigger small ring.
so it's all fine.
Hey thanks for the info... I wasn't sure if the non-oem rings work well. I was surprised that there were so few ring options from campagnolo when I started looking into this.

After running Sheldon's gear calculator I'm probably going to run 39/48 so your're absolutely right that derailleur capacity is not an issue. I was just so happy to find such a large range of rings that I was looking at all the combinations Now I'll finally be able to put my 12-25 cassette to good use!
