Since reading the first post of this thread - cannot get this incident out of my mind. perhaps if I relay it my head will clear.
Last summer my partner and I were touring into Albany, NY along the Hudson river path. Temp and humidity were both well into the 80s, plus the sun was blazing. The path had some shade trees and every now and then a bench in the shade - my partner said next time we get to a bench in the shade let's stop for some fluids. A short time later there is a bench nicely in the shade. We barely get sat on it, a young woman flies in, sort of carelessly puts her bike down and sits on this bench aside of us. I couldn't help noticing - this lady was drop dead gorgeous - WOW ! I couldn't help but taking a long look at her, she was hot and on top of that very overheated. My wife asked her if she was ok, I just broke out a spare bottle of water and passed it to her. Which she downed in too quickly - but she needed the hydration. Finally she started talking - she and her boyfriend had started out for a ride mid morning They met a couple of his buddies along the way, after a promise to meet her at some location for lunch they went separate ways so he could cruise with the boys for a while. She got to the lunch spot, no boyfriend- after waiting a while she text him, then after more time said she text him that she was going to ride home. No lunch or liquids for this lady wasn't good - dug up a granola bar which she ate. Our rest was period was longer than it should have been, we got going. This lady got up and started to get on her bike. Just then a rough looking guy on a mountain bike slowly passes by and calls to the lady "can I be your seat", I think she may have heard this before. She yelled back - Yes, she needs a new seat because her current one has caused some chaffing in a sensitive spot, it is a bad time of the month for her and she has some gas. The guy rode off with a humble blank expression on his face, the lady a big smile. My partner had a smile also. I bet the boyfriend got cold shoulder and spiced tongue for dinner that night. My mind is clear now.
