No, I don't think so (to the joke question). I too am on the fence about this... I don't carry because I have no reason to ride through shady neighborhoods... you always have a choice, so plan ahead. On the other flip side, why stop unless it is at a light? If no one is there, don't stop (assuming no cross traffic) a crowd of shady people will have a hard time keeping up with 15+, let alone 20+.
