OP, if this is your first road bike, keep it simple. The Scattante has everything you will need in a bike for a very long time, plus you save a few bucks and even get 10% store credit. Keep in mind, I assume you don't have shoes, pedals, shorts, jerseys...the bike is usually the cheapest part of cycling. The CAAD is a great bike, but you do pay for the name. Plus, I'm not a big fan of REI. PB is a 100% bike shop. REI just happens to have a few bikes over in the corner...and it's always a zoo in there (and their prices suck).
