Last time I replaced batteries I ended up getting bad or super-old batteries from the CVS. I was getting mentally to ship the wheel and be without the hub to have Saris look at it, then I thought "might as well spend another $9 and double check the batteries"...

problem solved. You might want to try new batteries, or open up the hub and double check that the battery bit is seated squarely/properly and clean.
