My family is car light. I'm the one in the family though that rides all the time, year-round in the Chicago area. I put in about 8K miles each year commuting, plus a limited number of more miles for rec purposes. I don't think I have ever put in more than 10K miles in a year though.
CarFree since 2000 (when I donated it to charity), but haven't driven regularly since June 15, 1999, when I crashed it.
Still looking to get the replacement for my bike from the May 4th crash.
