I'd like to buy a fixie, and my price range is $300. This is my first fixie so it needs at least a rear brake.
I've looked at three bikes:
Velano Edge:

-I like the design and the bullhorn handle bars.
-Comes ready with both brakes and pedals.
Motobecane:

-Branded Weinmann rims, so I'm guessing more reliable
-Comes with only rear brake, that's not too bad
-Seems like overall better components
Gravity Attack:
http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...rack_bikes.htm
-Not excited about the semi-upright geometry
-Doesn't come with straps on pedals
-BUT aluminum frame and carbon fork seem worth it alone
I'm thinking the gravity attack is probably much lighter than the others, but the relaxed geometry makes for less aggressive stance which isn't really my style.
Still, more than anything I'm looking for reliable and sturdy. Something I can ride for a while, and then maybe with time, change some parts out.
What would you buy on my budget?
Any other suggestions besides these listed above?
