I guess it was in reference to maybe a thicker, more traditional cotton / blend t-shirt really. A rephrase: Compared to a thicker, more traditional cotton / blend t-shirt, I find that a jersey / wicking shirt is more breathable.

As for riding with no shirt, sorry, i'm not about that at all. Not saying that having on a jersey / regular shirt will keep my body healed from road rash, but it'll sure help a tad more than if I fell with no shirt on at all. Plus, i enjoy the back pockets almost all riding jerseys come with.
