Bikes: Scapin (2), Mondonico, Eddy Merckx, Pinarello

I ride both aluminum (Eddy Merckx SC - Scandium) and steel (Scapin - Colnago - Mondonico...all columbus tubing of various types.

I absolutely like both materials. I definitely think my Eddy is more affected by the wind I get whipped in sideways gusts more than my thinner-width steel frames. This could be part weight and part windage as the aluminum tubing is definitely thicker. Also, when wind gusts are hitting me on the nose, I have lose momentum quicker on the Eddy than on my steel frames. I have noticed, when riding in groups, that when I'm pulling...and into a headwind, most of my buddies feel that I have had a strong pull. I think this may be that I feel more momentum on the steel frame. This all makes me like the steel when its blowing out. When there is little to no wind however, nothing accelerates and holds it like the Scandium frame.
