Either brake will slow/stop your bike, but the Campagnolo Record brakes are so much more nicely finished! Universal 77 were a cheap wanna-be, compared to Campagnolo. About the only vintage brake from the late '70s-early '80s period that compares in quality, is the Modolo Pro. Yes, Superb is nice, Dura-Ace is nice, Galli was OK, CLB nice, but Modolo Pro (especially the early ones) and Campagnolo Record brakes are more beautifully made. Besides, the Raleigh Pros were equipped with Campagnolo.
