If it were me with those cranks...

If I didn't have my scuff balls: 220-400-800-1200-2000-Mothers-Blue Magic
With scuff balls: coarse scuff ball-medium scuff ball-fine scuff ball-800-1200-2000-Mothers-Blue Magic

Three scuff balls runs would take less time than hand sanding 220 and 400.

Wet sand all grades.
