CF gets its strength from the weave of each layer. Is it possible to get the same strength back once that weave is broken and "repaired"? My company did a lot of research into that for aircraft CF and the answer is no. You have to replace the whole piece that is broken. How do you do that with a CF bicycle frame? If it were a large piece of aircraft fuselage, then sure--replace that piece. Maybe if you replace a whole section of the frame's triangle....it leaves a lot of doubt in my opinion. May as well replace the whole frame. In fact, I would do that whether it's an AL, Ti, or CF frame. Not worth my hide just to save a bicycle frame.
