Because it's all one piece. The bearings and races are assembled and adjusted at the factory. You don't have to worry about over or under torquing the preload. They last a long time and require no maintenance. The seals work well and there's very little water intrusion. I can stand up and hammer all day long and they don't come loose. That's been my experience.
