Nonetheless, quite a few people have made points that helmets don't help you with concussion, and I do know a couple of cyclists who've been killed despite wearing a helmet.

However, a friend of mine recently crashed his bike into a dirt jump and broke his collar bone. Having watched the video of him crashing (yes, it was videoed, tut tut, typical teenager) it's clear that he also whacked his head on the jump. I'm fairly certain that would have knocked him out, so thank god for helmets.

So...wear your damn helmet!
Let's see, I am 49 years old and ride a Raleigh Sojourn...not quite the bicycle for dirt jumping, so once again, I'm still convinced the bicycle cap will suffice!
