That function is supplied by CueSheets that is added to your bookmarks. It automatically gives you elevation data, cue sheets, a tinyurl of your route and more. I used to use Ride with GPS but found it too buggy. You have to double check each turn in the cue sheet because it often misses some. There is also the issue of long routes being corrupted, thus wasting the time spent creating it.
