This post tells the story......
It's all about weight,not durablity or ease of use. Makers make the frame out of the lightest materials
available to sell bikes on "light weight" alone with the unsuspecting buyer never figuring out that he's
just bought a less than durable product until it's to late. That's why I like the heavier older steel bikes,
they last.

They came WITH a side stand because the makers wanted their products known as well made and
DURABLE. Try to sell a light weight cabon or crummy aluminum frame in the hey day of steel and you'd
be broke overnight. With good reason. People wanted to own a good bike that would last a while which
is really caused the problem Not many bikes were sold. So makers figured we'll make'em to not last
so long.

So there you have it.......
Why no side stand?? Weight and low frame quality.
