It's funny because there are at least a couple of people I could ride in with if I chose to, but I like the solitude right before and after work. There's any number of things that my mind might be occupied with.

It's not unusual for me to see somebody I think I might know up ahead which starts an internal debate. Should I catch up to them, be friendly and chat? Maybe they want to be alone... Maybe I want to be alone...

I've also had people ride up to me from behind and start a conversation. I don't really mind generally, but I'm quite content to make the journey by myself.
