When I ran, it was almost impossible to burn out (100 mpw is still only 11-12 hours a week), but cycling seems like a ton of time spent in the saddle. So I'm just wondering if there's people who ride 50-60 a day and still enjoy it just as much?
Not married, no kids, no television, live in NYC. I probably should have done something more purposeful like restart playing the piano instead of buying all this bike stuff but cycling keeps me occupied in my leisure time.
All my friends that race do not ride miles, they ride hours/intensity. The really serious ones have a very structured training schedule. Some of them hardly seem to be on the road except for races.
I think trying to be competitive would burn me out--take the fun out of cycling realizing that I will end up something like pack fodder in the Cat 1/2/3 race.
