First off, all cables and housing are brand new. They move freely when pulled.

My right Shimano tiagra 9spd shifter isn't working right. The red piece sitting on the far left will move to the right 4 clicks and then stop, all while the rear derailleur doesn't move at all...Please help I'm at my wit's end.

Also my left shifter doesn't retract completely into the lever. It hangs down a bit and this is causing my cable tension to be slack, in turn, making the brakes lock up after pressing the lever. Good news is this one shifts the full range, but the other doesn't. Problems come in twos I guess...
