good thread. im in a similar boat, building up a trek 2.1 frame into something a bit race-ish but still on a budget. mine is full 105 with a few nicer doo dads, speedplay x2s, deda zero 100 stem, thomson post, with hope skewers/seat clamp and some generic flat race seat with ti rails. i really need some new wheels though, aksiums are heavy!
