A shoe I've had success with even though they don't advertise as wide are the Specialized Body Geometry models. I just bought a Comp model in sz 46 and am pretty happy. For comparison with normal athletic shoes I buy New Balance in either 11.5EEE or 12EE depending on the model.

I had an earlier Spec BG Sport shoe but ut was 2 strap and though the footbox was good I was getting mucho heel slip. The 3rd strap seems to help with that alot.

Heel slip has been my problem when searching for a good fit. I can find a toe box but the heel area is too wide. Most people with wide feet don't have enormous heels.
