I've never heard it discussed, although I think if you asked anyone doing the ride they would say yes.

At the point this happened, it's a residential street with a double yellow line, and the sprint marker is just before a resort. So there is usually some traffic, and it would not be a good idea to cross the center line.

I was purposefully banking on the fact that people wouldn't cross the center line to make them go right, into the wind.
