Yeah, Silverado is paved. There's a parking lot and gate at the top of Silverado Canyon Road. The trail beyond the gate is paved for another 3 miles. It's popular with hikers and mt.bikers. But road bikes are capable of riding it. There is gravel and debris on the trail, and there are a handful of 4-5" deep water crossings. Take these carefully and you won't fall. I always unclip both shoes before going through these in case I need to break my fall. Make sure your tires are in good condition because this trail WILL EAT your tires.
